Background

Clúid was established in 1994 and has grown to become the largest housing association in Ireland. Clúid provides over 5,000 of the 27,000 homes provided by all housing associations in Ireland.

Housing associations are independent, not-for-profit charities that provide affordable high quality housing for people who cannot afford to buy their own home or pay for private rented housing.

There are currently nearly 90,000 households on local authority waiting lists for social housing. In recent years Government funding has been greatly reduced. At a time of a growing need for social housing, Clúid’s work has never been more important.
